John Oates

John Oates is an acclaimed songwriter and half of the musical duo, Hall & Oates, who are still to this day, the #1 selling duo in music history.  Signed to Atlantic records in 1970, they had their first Top 10 song, “She’s Gone,” covered by Tavares.  Later, they switched to RCA and continued to climb to fame.  Together, they released 21 albums, 10 of which were #1 records and had 20 Top 40 Hits.  The duo was inducted into the Rock of Roll Hall of Fame and the American Songwriters Hall of Fame.  In addition to this, they received various awards from American Music, MTV, and Grammy nominations, however, the most notable was the BMI Icon Award.  Personally, John Oates released 7 albums and continues to make music individually and with Daryll Hall.
