Janis Ian

Janis Ian was raised in New York City and quickly became a musical prodigy, learning piano at the young age of 2.  At the age of 14, she signed her first recording contract and released one of her biggest hits, “Society’s Child” in 1965.  A decade later, in 1975, she released the song she is widely recognized for, “At Seventeen.” This song went #3 on the Billboard charts and won Ian a Grammy award for Best Female Pop Vocals.  Although Janis endured a dry spell during her career, she still writes and releases music today.
